What an amazing opportunity we have for all of you out there looking to dip your feet into the waters of snowsport instructing. Sasquatch Mountain offers the Level 1 Ski CSIA course to teach you how to teach others to ride. If you love to ride and want to spread your passion like butter, instructing is absolutely the right job for you. There is nothing better than getting paid to ski and do what you love for a winter of fun!
We even sweeten the deal by offering to pay for the course. You receive half the payment for your level 1 when you start working here at Sasquatch and the rest when you complete the season, we pay for half the course for part-timers. I know I wish I had this chance when I was first starting out in the ski industry.
According to Snowpro.com, the Level 1 Course is a 3-day introduction to ski teaching, CSIA technique and methodology, and the role of teaching within the ski industry. It combines the basics of practical ski teaching methods, technical understanding and development of guest service skills, specifically addressing children’s riding.
Candidates will receive coaching on their skiing, teaching and people skills with the goal of reaching the Level 1 standard. They will also receive suggestions and strategies for long-term development. The successful candidate is certified to teach learners up to intermediate skill level. Level 1 is a prerequisite for Level 2.
Courses take place regardless of weather conditions. The only time a course might be cancelled is in the event of a lack of participants or when the hill is closed for an extended period of time during the course due to extreme weather conditions (lack of snow, severe snow storms, lightning storms, intense high winds, etc.). Should the CSIA cancel a course, you will be contacted by the national office and, if applicable, a full refund will be issued.
