As of Friday at 8:00am, Hemlock Valley Road will be open 24 hours a day with single lane alternating traffic (SLAT). A pilot car will not be necessary, however, expect delays up to 60 minutes as crews and equipment are still working fully to complete repairs, which will require traffic to be stopped intermittently. The resort will remain closed on this day.

Exciting news! The resort will be open on Saturday, come out and join us for some fresh lines! Please note, we will still have single lane alternating traffic (SLAT) on Hemlock Valley Road. We will be running our shuttle on both Saturday and Sunday, ensure you are reserving your spot by calling Guest Services (all details can be found on our Getting Here page). If you are scheduled for a lesson, please leave yourself enough time to arrive an hour early, so you can check in and get rentals if needed.

Thank you for your patience during this time, we can’t wait to see you on the slopes! Please keep in mind mandatory chains will still be in effect as we are expecting snow (wahoo)!

Update on those retrieving cars for the duration of the week (Thursday/Friday):

At 8:00am a pilot car/escort vehicle will be departing from bottom of Hemlock Valley Road up the mountain (come early and be prepared to wait).

At 8:30am downhill traffic will be departing before the first bridge by the Sasquatch 3km sign (you will see the traffic control attendant) with pilot car/escort vehicle (come early and be prepared to wait).

For evening travel:

At 5:00pm a pilot car/escort vehicle will be departing from bottom of Hemlock Valley Road up the mountain (come early and be prepared to wait).

At 5:30pm downhill traffic will be departing before the first bridge by the Sasquatch 3km sign (you will see the traffic control attendant) with pilot car/escort (come early and be prepared to wait).

*DO NOT attempt to drive up/down the road outside of scheduled times without a pilot car. It delays the progress of the road repairs, is dangerous and you will be turned away. Traffic permitted only as posted and with Ministry escort vehicle.

**Conditions and times may change quickly pending variable situations. Please check DriveBC for the most up-to-date details as things change quickly.

The Mountain and Road Opening:

We are working closely with the Ministry of Transportation to ensure the roads are open as soon as safely possible. With their crews working around the clock, we hope to open the resort in some capacity to public this weekend with single lane alternating traffic on the road but will not have confirmation from the road crews until FRIDAY. The safety of our guests is our top priority, so we are unable to open until we receive full clearance from the Ministry of Transportation.

We really appreciate your patience during this time and will be updating our channels as soon as possible. We would like to say a huge thank you to TRK Helicopters, Librico Helicopters, The Canadian Ski Patrol, the unwavering Sasquatch Mountain staff members, The Hemlock Valley Volunteer Firefighters Association, The Hemlock Valley Homeowners Association, and our local MLA Laurie Throness for all the support during this time.

There will be an escort/pilot vehicle heading down the mountain at 5:30pm tonight. Please meet in P2 at 5:00pm to start getting organized for the escort convoy.

Please note that any attempts to circumvent barriers and not follow the guided times will further disrupt their operation and vehicles will be turned away. More importantly, this can lead to a dangerous situation trying to back out vehicles in a tight areas. We are in regular dialogue with the road supervisor and we will continue to update you on escorted vehicle traffic runs, to and from the Mountain.
