Sasquatch Opening Day Announcement

Opening Day Announcement!

Since the initial atmospheric river from Nov. 14-16, a series of storms have worsened existing floods and created new flooding and landslides in southwestern BC. Communities around Sasquatch Mountain have been overwhelmed by extreme weather conditions, rain and flooding, leading to many questions from our guests in regard to our own road and the highways/roadways leading to the resort and how this may impact our opening.

Given the ongoing threats of flooding and the continued need of public safety measures under the Emergency Program Act, the Provincial Government has extended the state of emergency until the end of the day on Dec. 14, 2021. The extension includes temporary measure to prioritize fuel for essential vehicles and limiting travel to essential travel only along:

  • Highway 3: from the junction of Highway 5 and Highway 3 in Hope to the west entrance to Princeton from Highway 3;
  • From the junction of Highway 7 and Highway 9 in Agassiz to the junction of Highway 7 and Highway 1 in Hope.

In the spirit of supporting our Provincial Government’s order and to encourage our guests, season pass holders, and employees to do the same, Sasquatch Mountain Resort has delayed opening to December 17th, 2021.

Any day tickets and/or rentals that have been pre-purchased for December 10th-16th will be reissued. We ask that you kindly contact our Guest Experience team at info@sasquachmountain.ca to facilitate the transfer of your products to an alternate date anytime throughout the 2021/22 season excluding blackout periods (Christmas Break and Family Day Weekend).

We thank you all for your continued support and patience as we navigate through these uncertain times, and we look forward to welcoming each of you for some fun in the snow this winter! Our heartfelt sympathies, best wishes and support go out to all local businesses and families who have been impacted by the floods.
