Ski/Snowboard Instructor Level 2

Located east of Vancouver in Agassiz, British Columbia; Sasquatch Mountain Resort is the Fraser Valley’s favorite alpine playground and has some of the largest, most varied off-piste skiing and riding of all the resorts in the lower mainland. We are currently looking to fill the role of Terrain Park Assistant Supervisor. This position is a full-time, seasonal position. To apply, please email your resume and qualifications to hr@sasquatchmountainresort.ca and include the position title in the subject line.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the scheduling and training of the terrain park staff members.
  • Adhere to the pre-approved labour budget.
  • Creatively designing plans for the terrain park layout, taking into account the natural features of the mountain.
  • Ensure all take-off points; landings, etc. are built in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Ensure constant care and maintenance of all rail and jump features
  • Knowing when a feature is ready to be opened or needs to be closed.
  • Ensure all signage, ropelines, fencing, and park entrances are properly maintained.
  • Inspect all features to ensure each is safe for the public.
  • Coordinate with other departments such as grooming and lift operations to ensure efficient operations.
  • Ensure that park logbooks are maintained showing daily maintenance for each feature.
  • Ensure rider counts are conducted and reported to the Director of Operations on a regular basis (it is important for terrain parks to operate based on volume).
  • Respond promptly to guest complaints and comments as per company policy.
  • Practice safe work procedures at all times.
  • Perform weekly safety talks with the park staff.
  • Maintain a professional and respectable appearance.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years terrain park experience.
  • Knowledge of risk management issues related to terrain parks is required.
  • Successful completion of Parkscapers is preferred.
  • Previous supervisory experience is preferred.
  • Previous grooming experience is an asset.
  • Strong skiing or snowboarding abilities are required.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong time management & organizational skills.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform regular maintenance on all machinery, equipment, and vehicles.
  • Ensure all machinery, equipment, and vehicles meet all safety standards and manufacturers guidelines.
  • Ensure all necessary supplies and parts are in stock.
  • Perform on-hill field repairs of machinery, equipment, and vehicles, as required.
  • Ensure shop is kept clean, organized, and safe at all times.
  • Maintain adequate fluid levels at all times: diesel, gasoline, oils, coolants, etc.
  • Ensure constant communication with other departments with regards to machinery, equipment, and vehicle downtimes and maintenance schedules.
  • On-call during winter season operating hours, where required.
  • Practice safe work procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Journeymen Heavy Duty Mechanic
  • Experience working on Prinoth grooming machinery is required; Piston Bully grooming machinery is an asset.
  • 3 or more years’ experience working on heavy duty machinery is preferred.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license, with air ticket is preferred.
  • Knowledge of proper rigging procedures is preferred.
  • WHMIS training is an asset.
  • Welding ticket is an asset.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of electrical and hydraulic schematics.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Able to work shift work: days, afternoons, evenings, and nights.
  • Able to work alone or as part of a team.
  • Able to work in all weather conditions; including subzero temperatures.

We are currently looking to fill the role of full-time Bus Driver for the 2018-2019 season. The successful applicant will be required to provide a clean drivers abstract. Interested and qualified applicants can apply to hr@sasquatchmountainresort.ca.

  • Operate the bus in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform pre-operational checks of the bus as per the pre-trip checklist
  • Transport staff to and from the resort, pick-up staff at the designated pick-up points

  • Practice safe work procedures

Qualifications:

  • Valid BC class 2 driver’s license, with air endorsement; required

Responsibilities:

  • Patrol the resort premises to prevent and detect signs of intrusion
  • Circulate amongst the guests and staff to preserve order and protect property
  • Ensure the security of all doors, windows, and gates
  • Ensure a consistent presence of security in Molly Hogan’s Bar & Grill
  • Warn persons of rule infractions or violations, apprehending or evicting violators from the premises using appropriate force, where required
  • Snow shoveling/clearing lodge decks and entrances, where required
  • Perform regular checks of staff accommodation to ensure control is maintained
  • Perform hourly check-ins with the grooming staff and record those interactions as per company policy.
  • Practice safe work procedures
  • Ensure you are projecting a professional appearance and attitude at all times

Experienced Lift Mechanic / Millwright

Responsibilities:

  • Perform all duties assigned by the Manager and/or Director of Mountain Operations.
  • Identify and correct any problems found on lifts and lift components.
  • Adhere to assembly, maintenance, and installation instructions as per manufacturer manuals and specifications.
  • Actively involved in preventative and required maintenance of all lifts and lift maintenance equipment.
  • Operate company equipment safely and effectively as per company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain records of work completed as per related codes, legislation, and company policy
  • Report all lift maintenance related activities to the Manager and/or Director of Mountain Operations.
  • Ensure compliance of the current CSA Z98 code and legislation as they relate to the current lifts and lift maintenance practices.
  • Ensure work area(s) are kept safe and clean, report any damage, malfunction, or misuse of any company equipment and/or property.
  • Ensure radio protocols are followed as per company policy.
  • Assist with the transport of guests and equipment, where required.
  • Assist other departments with general maintenance needs, where required.
  • Assist in emergency situations.
  • Assist the lift operations department with opening and closing procedures.
  • Assist with the training of lift operators and lift maintenance personnel, where required.
  • Practice safe work procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Journeyman Millwright (preferred) or Apprentice Millwright (min 3rd year).
  • Previous lift maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the CSA Z98 Code is preferred.
  • Successful completion of the Selkirk College lift mechanic courses is preferred – Lift 151 Surface Lifts, Lift 152 Fixed Grip Ski Lifts, Lift 153 Detachable Grip Ski Lifts (asset).
  • Knowledge of PLC electrical systems and components.
  • Welding ticket is an asset.
  • Previous snowmobile experience is preferred.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license.
  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics and machining.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other basic computer systems and applications.
  • Intermediate to advanced skier or snowboarder.
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Climbing and belay experience.

Food & Beverage: Front line position

Responsibilities:

  • Daily preparation of menu items ensuring to follow item guidelines
  • Ensure the highest levels of quality are maintained
  • Set-up station according to departmental guidelines
  • Use and maintain all equipment in station
  • Assist with the cleaning, sanitation, and organization of kitchen, walk-in coolers
  • Prepare dishes for customers with food allergies or intolerances
  • Follow proper reporting procedures for accidents and incidents
  • Report any infraction in the food services department policies and procedures

Qualifications:

  • Foodsafe certification
