Job Description

Reporting to the Sales & Marketing Manager, the Digital Marketing Coordinator is responsible for helping build an online experience and manager social media content on multiple networks. The Digital Marketing Coordinator will be social media focused with great organizational and communications skills, can write for all audience types and execute marketing communications campaigns.

The role will involve skiing/boarding and other activities to capture content for use in social media, marketing campaigns, events, and promotions.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Create and deliver a broad range of communications pieces to promote SMR across internal and external audiences
  • Develop and curate engaging content for social media platforms covering resort events, attractions, and mountain conditions, selecting the best images/videos supporting your message
  • Execute a results-driven social media strategy, assisting the Marketing Coordinator to create, monitor and analyze social media ads
  • Maintain unified brand voice across different social media channels
  • Interact with users and respond to social media messages, inquiries and comments
  • Assist in creating content for website development projects, promote products and ensure our audience stays informed
  • Capture and edit outstanding photo and video content for the resort according to the resort branding strategy

The Role:

We are seeking a Marketing Coordinator who is passionate about representing our mountain to our guests, the media, and general public to enhance the company’s profile and further strengthen our brand presence in the tourism marketplace. The primary function of your role is to creatively promote the Sasquatch brand, culture and message within our surrounding communities so that Sasquatch Mountain is known as Fraser Valley’s favourite year-round playground.

This role is best suited for a self-starter with a positive, vibrant personality who enjoys the hustle and bustle found within the day to day operations of a dynamic and constantly changing work environment. Someone who can roll up their sleeves and lead on any number of projects simultaneously – and wants to be a part of our continuing development, growth and success. The successful candidate will work with the events & social media team to create, execute and promote on and off mountain events and promotions. Responsibilities:

Marketing

  • Boosting awareness of the Sasquatch Mountain brand in the Fraser Valley and Greater Vancouver area and promoting SMR as a venue of choice for year-round events, functions and activities.
  • Planning digital marketing campaigns, including web, SEO/SEM, email, social media and display advertising.
  • Measuring and reporting on the performance of all digital marketing campaigns.
  • Getting to know and understand our consumers, target demographics, and what influences their spending patterns/decision making.
  • Ensuring branding is consistent through all outlets and channels.
  • Tracking and analyzing the performance of advertising campaigns and adjusting accordingly.
  • Developing all marketing and promotional material for various departments throughout the resort

  • Assisting with writing and development of monthly email newsletters and the daily snow report in Mailchimp and tracking success of each campaign.
  • Creating and deploying informative and appealing content for social posts, blogs, landing pages, email newsletters, based on strategy, audience and the overall goals and objectives of the organization.
  • Assisting with website content and blog updates as needed.
  • Researching and facilitating opportunities where we can promote our brand and connect with our target demographics.
  • Responsible for driving audience growth and engagement.

Qualifications:

  • Post-Secondary education in the area of marketing, events and/or tourism/business management.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in marketing, brand strategy, social media management or related field preferred.
  • Strong copywriting skills, a creative outlook and experience with brand campaigns.
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills and working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite design software (ex. Adobe Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop).

Primary Function

Your primary role will be to support the Resort Experience Manager in overseeing the Guest Experience/Retail Department, Team members and assist with the day-to-day general tasks and decision-making processes.  You will be key in demonstrating and leading the Team to ensure our Guests are receiving the highest standards of Guest Experience, attention and a positive, outstanding Resort experience through all interactions!

Responsibilities: 

    Guest Experience Team

  • Ensure our Guests are dealt with in an efficient, friendly, personal and professional manner demonstrating empathy and superior listening/conflict resolution skills.
  • Ensure that all aspects of the Department are functioning and in alignment with the correct policies, procedures and the Berezan Company Core Values upholding and modeling Department Standards
  • Prioritise and multitask to a high level supporting the overall productivity within the Department
  • You will be the main support & go-to for your Team Members in dealing with challenging requests that determine a greater and more detailed approach to achieving a resolution, as well as being responsible for final decisions on refunds (with guidance if needed from the GE Manager)
  • Help oversee and direct the daily operations of the Guest Experience Department, including but not limited to:
    • Organising Team Member Staff meetings
    • Aid in the development of Departmental procedures pertaining to efficiency and best practices for both Guests and Team Members
    • Monitor emails, answer phones and respond to general Guest enquiries
    • Manage online organisation and filing for the GE Department such as updating Google Docs and Share File
    • Work with the Director of Inside Operations & GE Manager in overseeing Retail operations, ordering and Inventory management
    • Learn and Operate the POS system with proficiency
    • Make sure all areas are clean and orderly throughout the day
    • Assist in the training and supervision of the Guest Experience Team
    • Have an awareness of products sold and exemplify product knowledge clearly to the Team
    • Assist with cash handling, reconciliation and cash out training for the Team
    • Assist the Resort Experience Manager with Department Scheduling and Team member placement in the Department
    • Make sure all Team Member and Guest facing areas are well presented, clean and orderly throughout the day
    • Be on call on an as needed basis for Sickness Cover
    • Collaborate with the Guest Experience Manager in the development of packages and programs that will increase skier visits and drive revenue streams
    • Monitor daily labour outputs.
    • Keep the Team up to date with current provincial COVID regulations- practicing and implementing within your department.
    • Assist the Sales & Marketing Team with groups, events and snow report updates as needed
    • Other duties may be assigned

Retail Operations

  • Aid in the selection and ordering of new apparel & inventory for the current and following season
  • Assist with the pre-season set-up of the retail store. This would include but not be limited to:
    • Receiving and tracking new inventory as it arrives
    • Oversee all shipments/packing slips & ensure they are in alignment with our orders & invoices.
    • Assist in the setup and layout of the store and the visual merchandising of all items
    • Order additional inventory as needed through current suppliers.
  • Get to know all products and conduct staff product knowledge sessions.
  • Learn our POS system (Oracle), how to program and edit products, and train staff on how to use it
  • Manage inventory; Track and conduct inventory counts in store and on the floor on a monthly basis
  • Aid in the supervision and training of all retail staff

Qualifications:

Summary of Responsibilities

· Works closely with Entabeni System Manager to ensure the successful operations of the resort Point of Sale software

· Assists in overseeing the various software solutions utilized by both the Indoor and Outdoor operations to ensure the most effective solutions for the resort are offered

· Programming and configuring appropriate products and functions according to specifications under the guidance of Entabeni System Manager

· Offers technical support to users by responding to questions and concerns

· Perform troubleshooting under the guidance of Entabeni System Manager to diagnose and resolve problems

· Provide orientation and guidance to users on how to operate POS software and computer equipment

· Assist in new POS software project design and implementations

· Setting up workstations with computers and necessary peripheral devices

· Work with the POS software developer to organize and schedule upgrades and maintenance without deterring others from completing their work

· Writes and maintains documentation to improve future troubleshooting

· Improves system performance by solving problems and recommending effective changes

· Assist in Training team members in the use of our Technology platforms

· Hands on Support of our Guest Service teams, and work in guest service role as necessary

  • Efficient operation of the base radio.
  • Act as a central hub for mountain communications, ensuring inter-departmental communications are relayed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Ensure that the dispatch logs are filled out properly and efficiently, including emergency response, transportation requests, maintenance issues, etc…
  • Collecting and reporting weather data for internal use such as daily mountain reports and website updates.
  • Ensure first aid and other investigation sheets are always in stock.
  • Entering information such as accident reports into the CWSAA online database on an on-going basis.
  • Maintaining a clean work environment
  • Clinic cleaning and organizing, including clinic laundry
  • Medical inventory and supply ordering
  • Snow clearing and maintain entrance to clinic and dispatch

Responsibilities:

  • Operate all grooming equipment, including winch cable grooming equipment, in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Complete daily vehicle log sheets and checklists
  • Perform pre-start up inspections as per pre-established checklists.
  • Perform shut-down and post operational procedures including necessary documentation regarding machine maintenance.
  • Adhere to all company operating and maintenance procedures.
  • Arrive to work on time, rested, and ready for your shift.
  • Keep buildings and lift terminals clear of hazards and excess snow.
  • Ensure a high-quality grooming product.
  • Practice safe work procedures at all times.
  • Operate during designated hours set by the Grooming Supervisor and Director of Mountain Operations as to not interfere with resort operational hours.
  • Report all ski run hazards, both current and potential, to the patrol department by the designated time each operational morning.
  • Assist the mechanic with maintenance on grooming equipment, where needed.
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous grooming experience is preferred.
  • Previous mountain operations experience is an asset.
  • Previous heavy equipment operating experience is preferred.
  • Mechanically inclined.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Able to work alone and/or with others.
  • Physically healthy.
  • Self-motivated.
  • Responsible.

You will be part of a team responsible for overseeing day to day mechanical operations of the lifts, maintaining regular service schedules, ensuring consistent safety, and identifying any problems before they develop. As an apprentice, you will receive the proper training, with a goal of full certification as a Millwright. On a bigger picture level, this position will also play a big role in the development of off-season activities and events that will help SMR achieve its goal in becoming a year-round destination for outdoor enthusiasts.

Responsibilities:

– Upon completion of training, you will carry out the day to day mechanics of the lift maintenance program.

– Identify to the lead millwright any problems found on lifts and lift components and any other machine related issues and take direction to correct those issues.

– Adhere to assembly, maintenance, and installation instructions as per manufacturer manuals and specifications.

– Actively involved in preventative and required maintenance of all lifts and lift maintenance equipment.

– Operate company equipment safely and effectively as per company policies and procedures.

– Maintain records of work completed as per related codes, legislation, and company policy

– Report all lift maintenance related activities.

– Ensure compliance of the current CSA Z98 code and legislation as they relate to the current lifts and lift maintenance practices.

– Ensure work area(s) are kept safe and clean, report any damage, malfunction, or misuse of any company equipment and/or property.

– Ensure radio protocols are followed as per company policy.

– Assist with the transport of guests and equipment, where required.

– Assist other departments with general maintenance needs, where required.

– Assist in emergency situations.

– Assist the lift operations department with opening and closing procedures.

– Assist with the training of lift operators and lift maintenance personnel, where required.

– Practice safe work procedures.

– Other duties may be assigned as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Certified Apprentice Millwright (preferred).
  • Previous lift maintenance experience is preferred.
  • Knowledge of the CSA Z98 Code is preferred.
  • Successful completion of the Selkirk College lift mechanic courses is preferred – Lift 151 Surface Lifts, Lift 152 Fixed Grip Ski Lifts, Lift 153 Detachable Grip Ski Lifts (asset).
  • Knowledge of PLC electrical systems and components (preferred).
  • Welding ticket is an asset.
  • Previous snowmobile experience is preferred.
  • Valid class 5 driver’s license.
  • Able to lift up to 75 lbs.
  • Working knowledge of hydraulics and machining.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other basic computer systems and applications.
  • Intermediate to advanced skier or snowboarder.
  • Able to work outside in all weather conditions.
  • Good communication skills.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Comfortable working at heights.
  • Climbing and belay experience is preferred.

The Role:

We are in need of a bus driver that would operate our 24-passenger bus from a start point in Mission, BC with the purpose of transporting our off mountain staff from the City to the Mountain in the morning and returning them at the end of the day’s operations. This would be a five day work operating a Wednesday to Sunday week. The schedule includes split shifts beginning at 0700 hours to 1100 hours. Then again from 1400 hours through to 1800 hours. There may be other operations, Staff Shuttle bus on a set mid week schedule to take Mountain residing Staff to Mission or Abbotsford shopping for supplies.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate the bus in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform pre-operational checks of the bus as per the pre-trip checklist
  • Transport staff to and from the resort, pick-up staff at the designated pick-up points
  • Put chains on the bus, where required
  • Assist at the maintenance shop, where required
  • Practice safe work procedures
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

Qualifications:

  • Valid BC Class 4 Unrestricted driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • Three or more years driving experience
  • Strong time management skills
