The Role:

As an integral part of our Sasquatch Mountain Resort Leadership Team, the primary function of this role is to help build and execute our Rental/Repair and Retail Department’s strategic plan. We require a hard-working, dedicated individual that is enthusiastic about bringing new ideas to the table, developing new relationships, empowering, and leading by example.

Primary function is to coordinate and direct the day-to-day operations of the Rental/Repair and Retail Departments ensuring success through safe operating procedures, a positive guest experience and a focus on staff retention and development.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the day to day operations of the rental/repair and retail shops
  • Monitor daily labour outputs in accordance with the labour budget outlined by the Director of Inside Operations
  • Scheduling & ensure proper staffing levels at all times
  • Ensure department is operating under the newest methods of industry recognized certifications, maintenance, and repair procedures and see that all department staff are properly trained within these parameters
  • Coordinate & administer department training for staff; including but not limited to binding certification, boot fitting, and in-house testing
  • Ensure guest complaints are dealt with according to company policy
  • Payroll administration & management for your department
  • Maintain proper maintenance on all rental equipment
  • Ensure that all Covid 19 protocols and requirements are maintained throughout the day
  • Ensure that department runs in an efficient and safe manner
  • Ensure weekly OH&S safety talks and site inspections are carried out
  • Deliver a high degree of customer service
  • Be an ambassador of Sasquatch Mountain Resort at all times by positively representing the company both on and off the mountain
  • Other responsibilities may be assigned

Qualifications:

  • Previous rental shop experience is required
  • Previous repair shop experience is required
  • Previous supervisory experience is required
  • Strong leadership and communication skills are required
  • Retail & cash handling experience is required
  • Time management skills & the ability to work both independently and part of a team
  • A college diploma or university degree in ski resort operations, business management or a related field is an asset; experience will be considered in lieu of education.
  • Able to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and holidays

Salary & Compensation:

  • An hourly starting rate of $20 per hour (or based on previous experience)
  • Subsidized housing costs (to be negotiated)
  • Season’s Pass, other resort discounts, and lift ticket discounts at other resorts.

You are required to be available to work during all peak periods throughout the season including but not limited to the following:

Job Description

Our Sales & Marketing team is looking for a new teammate to work with us on all aspects of what we do. Helping with Social Media, Email Marketing, Website Maintenance, In House Design, Group Sales and Events, plus assistance with projects, proposals and guest experience are all on the table as we design this position around your skills. We’re a small, but dynamic team of self-starters and team collaborators. We work very closely together but also independently.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Brand Ambassador for Sasquatch Mountain Resort on mountain and within the community
  • Assist in the development and promotion of new programs, initiatives, and events for both winter and summer operations
  • Provide support to the Business Development Manager to maximize group sales through building new partners and relationships
  • Direct sales calls, school visits, colds calls, networking, database marketing, and mail-outs
  • Increase group bookings, skier visits and revenue during winter and summer months, contribute to overall group sales strategy including assisting with the development of the sales and marketing plan, assisting with group pricing strategy
  • Track sales, leads, clients and progress through company designated record keeping software
  • Communicate details pertaining to bookings and events with all departments, team leads, and managers
  • Content creation, growth, and scheduling of current, new, and emerging social media
  • Attend and participate in trade shoes, industry, and community events relevant to the group market as required
  • Develop sales skills and techniques and cross train to understand all processes of the Sales and Marketing team.
  • Updating internal and external documents (ie. Group rates, product guides) etc.

Requirements and Qualifications

  • Knowledge of and demonstrated experience with Social Media

Job Description:

The Events Coordinator is primarily involved in the animation and coordination of events, entertainment and groups, including summer and winter events while providing support to sales efforts and guest experience as needed to create meaningful and engaging animation, both during peak and off peak season. The Events Coordinator follows the event or group from its conception and works with all departments to determine any food and beverage, A/V, set up, lift ticket, rental, activity, or other needs the event/group may have. The Events Coordinator helps each department attend to the event/group and works as the intermediary between the two.

Responsibilities:

  • Brand Ambassador for Sasquatch Mountain Resort on mountain and within the community
  • Assist in the development and promotion of new programs, initiatives and events for both winter and summer operations – planning, set up, event execution and teardown of on-going, weekly family activities and signature events
  • Work with marketing department and generate increased attendance at each of these events.
  • Be on site and available where needed during event days and group visits
  • Coordinate between all departments to create the best and most cohesive experience for groups
  • Facilitate client activities on-site, off-site, and on-mountain in uniform and on skis/snowboard
  • Be the liaison and point of contact between groups and Solitude
  • Work with F&B managers to create & print menus
  • Arrange and host site tours, including on-mountain, venues, and lodging properties
  • Create event orders, diagrams, and banquet
  • Instruct business groups on A/V equipment use
  • Supervise and assist with all event setup and take down
  • Resolve problems that arise while the group is on-site
  • Provide client prospecting and research
  • Attend trade shows as assigned
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Outstanding work ethic and positive attitude. The Coordinator must be willing to work odd hours, do manual labor (event planning requires a lot of hands-on, physical work including site set-up/take-down, taking supplies to/from storage facilities, etc.) and work through the elements (events go on – rain or shine – or snow!).
  • Ability to prioritize and follow-through. It is important to be able to prioritize projects, ask for direction when needed and follow through on the completion of tasks.
  • Self-motivated/Self-sufficient. The Coordinator will be expected to take on a lot of responsibility and work independently without supervision.
  • Good teamwork skills. Although the Coordinator will be expected to work on their own for much of the time, they will also constantly be interacting with the rest of the event team members and other members of other departments.
  • Excellent organization skills. Being detail oriented and very organized is essential to the success of any event. Our events are very multifaceted, and the event organizers must have every aspect planned well in advance.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills. The ability to gather the necessary information in order to make decisions is a very important trait for the Coordinator to have.
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
  • Good computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel).
  • Willingness to learn and develop skills as the department develops and grows.
  • Social media savvy
  • Intermediate or advanced ski or snowboard ability and valid driver’s license required

Job Description

You are a detail oriented, reliable individual who will be responsible for the daily audit and handling of the resorts revenues. You will work closely with our revenue generating departments to ensure all records are accurate and recorded appropriately.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Audit and track all revenue collected within the resort.
  • Perform cash handling duties (including counting, balancing, placing and fulfilling coin orders, etc.).
  • Be an advocate for health and safety, ensuring a clean and safe working environment.
  • Assist with any additional duties as assigned
  • Work flexible shifts, including weekends and holidays.
  • Prepare deposits for the bank.
  • Support the Accounts Receivable Administrator as required.
  • Preparing reports and invoices for resort revenue streams
  • Main and update Accounts Receivable files in a timely manner
  • Prepare regular and ad hoc departmental reports
  • Communicate procedures and answer receivables processing inquiries
  • Provide support to the Guest Experience Team as needed throughout winter and summer operations.

The Role:

We are in need of a bus driver that would operate our 24-passenger bus from a start point in Mission, BC with the purpose of transporting our off mountain staff from the City to the Mountain in the morning and returning them at the end of the day’s operations. This would be a five day work operating a Wednesday to Sunday week. The schedule includes split shifts beginning at 0700 hours to 1100 hours. Then again from 1400 hours through to 1800 hours. There may be other operations, Staff Shuttle bus on a set mid week schedule to take Mountain residing Staff to Mission or Abbotsford shopping for supplies.

Responsibilities:

  • Operate the bus in a safe and efficient manner
  • Perform pre-operational checks of the bus as per the pre-trip checklist
  • Transport staff to and from the resort, pick-up staff at the designated pick-up points
  • Put chains on the bus, where required
  • Assist at the maintenance shop, where required
  • Practice safe work procedures
  • Other duties may be assigned as needed

Qualifications:

  • Valid BC Class 2 Unrestricted driver’s license
  • Clean driving record
  • Three or more years driving experience
  • Strong time management skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Good communication skills

Contract length: 5 months

Part-time hours: 37.5 per week
