CANADIAN SKI INSTRUCTORS ALLIANCE COURSE: LEVEL 1
December 16, 2019 - December 18, 2019
The Level 1 Course is a 3-day introduction to ski teaching, CSIA technique and methodology, and the role of ski teaching within the ski industry. It combines the basics of practical ski teaching methods, technical understanding and development of guest service skills, specifically addressing children’s skiing.
Candidates will receive coaching on their skiing, teaching and people skills with the goal of reaching the Level 1 standard. They will also receive suggestions and strategies for long-term development. The successful candidate is certified to teach skiers up to intermediate parallel skill level. Level 1 is a pre-requisite for Level 2.
Courses take place regardless of weather conditions. The only time a course might be cancelled is in the event of a lack of participants or when the hill is closed for an extended period of time during the course due to extreme weather conditions (lack of snow, severe snow storms, lightning storms, intense high winds, etc.). Should the CSIA cancel a course, you will be contacted by the national office and, if applicable, a full refund will be issued.
