Group Lessons

Group Lessons are available for anyone who wishes to learn in a social setting.

  • Group lessons are 2 hours (AM or PM). Book a single lesson or a multi-week program (4 single day lessons over 4 weeks).
  • Learn in a fun environment with peers of similar ability.
  • Max. 6-8 people per lesson depending on age/ability
  • Group lessons are available for all ages (children, youth and adult).

2 Hour Session: $219 + GST

Tiny Tots (Ski Only): Learning how to ski, ages 3-5

First Timers: New to snowsports! Skiing or snowboarding for the first time.

Beginners: Have tried snowsports but still need assistance with turning on beginner runs.

Intermediate: Confident in turning on beginner runs and looking to push skills into blue terrain.

Advanced: Able to ski/ride on all blue terrain and working on progressing into blacks, off-piste, freestyle or carving.

Multi-Week Packages

Multi-week programs run every Sunday from 10am – 12pm.

Programs include First Timers, Beyond the Basics and Rippers (NEW)!

4 Week Session: $349 + GST

First timers: This is for guests who have never been skiing or snowboarding before. First Timers introduces snowsport basics for example how to use equipment, mountain etiquette and understanding the sport. Focus on fundamental skills such as stopping and turning are key elements of First Timers.

Beyond the Basics: Designed for beginner to intermediate ability levels, Beyond the Basics is for guests who can already turn and stop on beginner terrain and want to take their skiing or riding onto harder terrain. This product has been created as a natural next step for guests who have completed the First Timers Multi-Week Program in the same season. Beyond the Basics continues to develop skills and fosters more control to take this onto blue terrain safely.

Rippers (New): Rippers is for those between 6-18 yrs of age who can ride blue terrain comfortably and want to push themselves to the next level. This is natural progression for students who have previously completed Beyond the Basics program within the same season. Rippers is an advanced program where the main goal is to expand skills into freestyle, freeride and black terrain.

3 four-week sessions are running throughout the 2023/24 season.

Session 1: January 7th – 28th, 2024

Session 2: February 4rd – 25th, 2024

Session 3: March 3nd – 24rd, 2024

Guests that have skied/snowboarded at SMR previously may take part in advanced programs. Snow School staff can assist in determining ability level.

Intro to Park

Snow School reserves the right to refuse this product or make alternative arrangements for a different lesson type if your ability level does not match lesson criteria. This is for the safety and well-being of the guest.

Intro to Park is facilitated by our highest-qualified instructors. We offer quality training that gets you in the air, learning how to spin and tackling your first box/rail feature in a safe and fun lesson. Intro to Park is tailored specifically for our most advanced guests and runs every Saturday from 10AM – 2PM.

Tiny Tots (Ski Only)

Our ‘Tiny Tots’ program at Sasquatch Mountain Resort is tailor-made for our youngest skiing and snowboarding enthusiasts, ensuring a fun and comfortable introduction to winter sports.

Tailored specifically for 3–5-year-olds, group lessons run for one hour and foster ski-skills through dynamic games and exercises.

Make your child’s first tracks on the snow count with professional instructors specifically trained to teach younger children. We are aware that children can get tired quickly and by capping Tiny Tot’s lessons to one hour we’ll keep them engaged and ensure meaningful progress.

LADIES DAY

Looking to improve your skiing or riding in an uplifting environment? Tuesdays and Wednesdays at Sasquatch are for you!

Get the ladies together and have a great time on Tuesday mornings and Wednesday afternoons.

Develop your skiing and riding skills with our top female instructors. Our student-focused approach and excellent instructors provide a fun, relaxed environment that fosters confidence and growth.

Sasquatch Mountain’s

Instructor Apprenticeship

  • Begin your journey to becoming a certified CASI or CSIA Level 1 instructor!

Our Instructor Apprenticeship is designed to segue snow enthusiasts into a career in ski and snowboard instructing while effectively guiding you in improving your skiing and riding skills.

If you complete the program in its entirety and pass the CSIA or CASI Level 1 Instructor Course and are then hired to instruct at Sasquatch Mountain Resort, you will receive a $100 refund for the apprenticeship program fee.

If you want to take the first steps to being a qualified ski or snowboard instructor, the apprenticeship program is for you!

We’re currently accepting applications for the 2023/24 Season!

This program is a 6-week commitment with 3 days including 2 hours of on-snow training AND 3 days of 2 hours shadowing lessons (learning to teach alongside a qualified instructor).

Throughout the program you will shadow and assist qualified instructors during lessons to gain knowledge and experience that will enrich your personal development as an instructor.

2 hours of on-snow training will be held evenings from 5pm-7pm. Training focuses on improving skiing or riding technique to meet the Canadian Ski Instructor’s Alliance (CSIA) and Canadian Association of Snowboard Instructor’s (CASI) Level 1 standards.

Program participants will have the opportunity to complete their required volunteer hours working with our group and multi-week programs on weekends.

PROGRAM PREREQUISITES

  • You are a parallel skier and/or comfortably linking snowboard turns
  • You would enjoy teaching children
  • You are open to having a virtual or face-to-face meeting with the Snow School supervisor
  • You are punctual and possess communication skills

CSIA and CASI booking and fees will NOT be covered by Sasquatch Mountain Resort and will be at your discretion to book.

Our expectation is that the exam is booked prior to attending your first day as an apprentice.
